Sheep 2022

For the 2022 Mountbellew Agricultural Show, the sheep section will have seven breeds involved including Suffolk, Texel, Beltex, Charollais, Vendeen, Zwartbles and Galway.

For anyone who would like to enter a breed other than these classes 119 & 120 are a purebred Ram/Ewe of any breed not listed in the schedule.

Sheep entries are strong again this year when the climax will be The All-Ireland Pair of Galway Ewe Lambs. Class 118 is confined to a pair of ewe lambs, which are judged as a pair. This class is open to pedigree and non-pedigree flocks. The champion pair will receive €75 and a product voucher.

Commercial classes are 121 to 126 where there are always a high number of entries in factory and butchers lamb along with the four crossbred ewe classes.

Our junior classes are classes 127 & 128. The young handlers competition encourages under 17s to participate in our show and class 128 will get the under 8’s feeding a pet lamb from a bottle.
